Online Hypnotherapy

Online hypnotherapy is a way for you to receive hypnotherapy using internet technology.  Webcam therapy is the best option as we can see one another during the therapy session.  Online hypnotherapy gives you a greater degree of flexibility in choosing the time and place for your sessions than you might find with face-to-face therapy.  Instead of a weekly appointment in my therapy room, we hold the session from our own separate locations using a webcam and audio link. 

The online platform that I use is via Zoom™ video-conferencing software. This is an established, secure platform used by many online therapists. The Zoom application means that we can see one another during your session.  Even if you have your eyes closed, I am still able to see you.  Being able to see me gives you more of the benefits of face-to-face therapy but with the convenience of the online platform.  You can hear tone of voice and you can see facial expressions and body language.

Online hypnotherapy offers certain benefits, but there are also limitations that are worth bearing in mind when deciding whether or not to access your treatment in this way.


  • Therapy takes place in your own home, meaning that you don’t have to travel.

  • Secure encryption software offers confidentiality and peace of mind.

  • Therapy happens at a time that suits you.

  • Access to therapy may be more immediate.

  • You may find the process of communicating from your own protected safe space very helpful in itself. Some clients say they actually find it easier to talk about some things when they're not the in the same room as their therapist (although this may not be the case for you).

  • I may be able to offer you more flexibility online, for example if you have to change location for any reason, you'll still be able to continue with your sessions, as long as you have access to your laptop/PC. 


Things to Consider

  • You'll be responsible for ensuring privacy at your end. You'll need to be able to shut the door on any noise, ensure that no one interrupts us and turn off telephones and other forms of contact.

  • Plan your session for a time when you know you can have privacy, making sure others in the house know not to disturb or interrupt you.

  • Find a safe and undisturbed space where you can set up your device and sit comfortably for the whole session.

  • Are you comfortable using internet technology?

  • Do you feel that your issue is too complex to discuss via the internet?

  • Have you ensured that your computer has adequate anti-spyware and anti-virus protection?

  • Are you using a shared computer?


This approach to hypnotherapy is a great way of enabling a greater number of people to access therapy.  However, it is dependent upon personal preference and the nature of the issue with which you need help, so please think about it carefully and talk it through with me by phone or email before you decide to proceed.
